I found a blog post where a photographer had sent in their work to a local wedding magazine to get a reply "These are all really pretty, but we want to see more details. More pictures of flowers, centerpieces, and any other details that really made these weddings special. Our Real Weddings section should give brides ideas for planning the perfect wedding."
I loved their response to the question that starts this blog...
Read their response but I just have to say that I truly feel the same way...what really really matters in the end is the friends and family that came to celebrate with you, to laugh with you, to cry with you.
This is what it is all about:
I would love to hear what some of my brides think, so leave a comment :)
Check out some of the cute blocks I came across on Facebook from Birdie Baby Boutique.
Not only would they be cute for you child's room but would also be cute for maternity sessions and newborn sessions!
She also has pretty headbands for your little ones too.

It's not too often I find myself in front of the lens.
However, on this occasion I was asked to photograph the 2 necklaces that
I had custom made from Dichroic Glass by Laurie K.
I had a Lyme Disease awareness necklace made as our family
is battling this terrible disease and I wanted something that if someone
asked about we could share our story.
I also wanted a necklace with a camera on it as that is my passion and my career.
I want to give a big thanks to Roy Ferrer for taking the time to come
into my studio and take these portraits for me.
Please take a moment and check out Roy and Laurie on their facebook pages and make sure
to let them know I sent you :)

Today was such a perfect day for another family portrait session.
This time I set up the scene in the field behind my house and
we then went inside to warm up and finish up inside.
I met Ashlie when she brought Jemma to me for her newborn portraits
and I must say it has been such a privilege to continue watching
Jemma grow into such a beautiful little girl.
I first met the Pivarnik family when I had the privilege of photographing their daughter, Tara, senior portraits a few years ago.
We tried setting up a family session last year but it just couldn't come together.
This year we were able to narrow down a time and day that worked for both of us.
We went to Ogden Gardens for the session.
Such a beautiful family!
If you liked looking at the Pivarnik family portraits go to https://www.facebook.com/DGPhotoDesignsgrowingmemories and like our page today!
Being a photographer, I have always tried doing my own family portraits by setting up the tripod, setting up the pose, getting into place and trying to press the remote without it being seen. I think some of you can relate :) Well, this year I wanted it to be different, I didn't want the stress of trying to do it all.
Here enters Aaron Brown from Aaron Brown Photography. I enlisted the help and expertise of Aaron, whose work I admire, and he was more than happy to take on the job. We were both a little worried on the way to the shoot when it started raining and lightning, but after 20-25 min the storm passed and the sun came out and made for an amazing background. I have to say that Aaron was so great with the kids and really seemed to make a connection with Rachel. Everyone who knows Rachel knows she doesn't come out of her shell much, but Aaron had her laughing so hard and sticking her tongue out at inappropriate times :)
The crew behind the scenes that made the portraits also come together was a former bride, Shayna Miller, who is an up and coming hair stylist. I met with Shayna at 11 Saturday morning to get an updo and then Kat DeGraff, a certified make up artist from Makeup by Kat DeGraff, came to my house and did my makeup for the shoot.
I am very happy with everyone and how everything worked out just perfect! Thank you to Aaron, Shayna, & Kat for your help in making my family portrait the best experience we could have had.
Please make sure and check out Aaron and Kat on Facebook and leave some love and tell them I sent you :)
Here is the sneak peek that Aaron left for me, cannot wait to see the rest of them.

when she contacted me about photographing her newest addition, Lucas.
He was such a handsome little guy, as you can see...
Before Jayden was to make her appearance Rachel and John contacted me to capture this moment of their life.
We headed out to a park in Westville, IN to this field of golden rod and it was perfect.
Then as you guessed she made her debut.
It wasn't an easy process after 38 hours of labor they finally made the decision to help her
along as she just couldn't do it on her own.
